New study finds that companies that fully support inclusive employment policies perform better


Disability:IN, the American Association of People with Disabilities, and Accenture conducted a new study that conclusively shows that companies who make it a point to hire and support people with disabilities as part of their workforce outperform their peers. Accenture identified 45 companies as standouts (in terms of their commitment to supporting employees with disabilities), then compared their business results to the other companies in the Disability Equality Index (DEI). The so-called “standouts” generated 28% higher revenue and 30% higher economic profit margins than the other companies in the Index. Additional analysis by Accenture found that adding more people with disabilities to the workforce could result in a $25 billion dollar boost to US GDP.
